Alta NGx Sonic Zip Waders from Guideline
With the Alta NGx Sonic series Guideline presents the next generation of the popular Alta Sonic waders. Compared to the previous models, however, not only the design and color has been completely revised, but also materials and features seem in our opinion much more thought out and sturdy than ever.
Thanks to the well-known high-frequency Sonic technology, the main elements of these high-end waders are no longer sewn and then glued, but directly welded together. This process cleverly bypasses a typical weak point of waders: the seams. During welding, two different nylon fabrics were combined. For the heavily used areas, a very robust and durable 4-layer Taslan material was used. On less heavily used areas, the a lighter material was used. This makes these pants at the same time exceedingly durable, but still offers a high degree of freedom of movement. Unrestricted by this robust construction method, however, is the breathability, which is very impressive with 7000gr/sqm/24 hrs and a water column of 20,000 mm.
The comfortable cut of the Alta NGx Sonic is also as impressive as ever. Like the previous model, the new Guideline Alta sits slightly closer to the body than other manufacturers and thus avoids annoying material on the legs or around the upper body. Still, the cut is such that there is enough material to make a huge step or to kneel down. On top, the clever Elevator Braces allow the pants to be pulled down in no time and worn as hip pants. A huge plus on hot days!
If this is not enough to avoid sweating, you can still open the 100% waterproof zipper of the zip waders, which of course is primarily not responsible for the ventilation of the body, but makes it immensely easier to put on and take off. Especially in the cold months and with several layers, putting on a zip wader is much easier, because the larger opening does not pull up your layers. Another advantage of zip waders for us fly fishermen: Having a quick pee. Which is possible without taking off your wading jacket or backpack.

Also new are the Gravel Guards, which are significantly more robust in the Alta NGx. The tab with the hook for hooking the Gravel Guard is almost twice as wide in the new generation as before and has been sewn over the entire length of the Gravel Guard. The underlying sock also received special attention and the Comfort Plus socks of the NGx guarantee a perfect fit, without annoying material folds.
Also the rest of the equipment of the waders are very cool: Two large chest pockets with a water-repellent zipper on the top, two pockets with fleece lining if your hands should get cold and two Hypalon docking stations for accessories and pliers offer you plenty of space to store your equipment. The wading belt is elastic, but strong enough that you can easily carry a wading stick or landing net without the belt buckling under the weight.
Guideline Alta NGx Sonic Zip is the worthy continuation of the extremely popular waders series. The pants are comfortable, durable, well thought out and look cool with a modern cut and design. The top model of Guideline is thus raised to the next level and is already one of our pesonal favorites!
Guideline Alta NGx Boot
Guideline goes one step further with the Alta NGx wading boot with Vibram sole or felt and makes the popular model even better. Not only on the environmental compatibility of the shoe was a special focus, also on the performance, the high-quality workmanship and the sporty-light design were particularly important to Guideline.

The outer material of the boot, made from 72% recycled material, is not only an absolute plus for sustainability, but also convinces with extreme durability. The rubber-reinforced areas in the front and heel make the shoe absolutely robust and durable, despite the light weight, and the good fit nestles comfortably against the foot even on long hikes.
We were allowed to test the Alta NGx Boot for a while on the rough coast of Bornholm and are simply amazed by the sporty hiking boot, which is of course a wading boot. The very light boot convinced us on the one hand with its low weight, which, by the way, it maintains relatively well even when wet due to the closed material cells, but especially with its fit and comfort. This is ensured not only by the sporty, precise cut of the shoes, but also by the fact that the padding inside the shoe has been thought out in detail.
We wore the Alta NGx with the Idogrip™ Vibram sole, which also found excellent grip on the granite soil of Bornholm, outside, as well as in the water. If this is not enough, the robust sole of the Vibram shoe can be equipped with spikes or fall back on the felt sole of the Guideline Alta NGX Boot Felt.
With the new Alta NGx Boots Guideline has managed an excellent combination of comfortable "ultralight" wading shoes and maximum robustness. A boot with which any terrain above and underwater can be traversed without worry. And the whole even light foot! In addition to the many great features such as: loops for putting on and taking off, the robust outer fabric, the comfortable padding with low water absorption, it is above all the cut and the weight of the NGx athlete, which has inspired us right away. Whether as a felt or virbam variant, we are sure the Alta NGx Boot will rightly become a bestseller!
Guideline Alta NGx Sonic Wading Jacket
Also the new flagship model of Guideline wading jackets, the new Alta NGx wading jacket we were already allowed to test and are enthusiastic about the wading jacket with the two large chest pockets in the green NGx design.
When you first put it on, in addition to the ingenious cut and wearing comfort, the feel-good factor at the neck and wrist is already noticeable. Both areas have been equipped with an extremely soft, very pleasant material. The collar, which is separated from the hood, has a fleece all around, which not only protects the chin area but also warms the neck, while the cuffs on the sleeves have been given a soft neoprene. The neoprene not only ensures that the pulse remains warm, but also prevents water from entering the sleeve.
In the Guideline Alta NGx Sonic wading jacket, the seams were not just simply sewn. Here, too, the Sonic technology was used, in which the seams are additionally welded. The ultra-welded construction ensures maximum durability and that the weak points such as shoulder or elbow remain absolutely tight.
Two large front pockets for fly cans, as well as the fleece-lined hand-warming pockets may not be missing in the NGx wading jacket of course! All of the total of four pockets were also provided with a water-repellent zipper to guarantee not only the best protection for you, but also for your tackle. The tackle can be stored in the NGx but not only in the pockets, for retractor, nipper or a pair of pliers, there is a small tackle station above the chest pockets, which provides quick access to the accessories. Further, the jacket has an inner pocket made of stretch mesh and another inner pocket with zipper. All in all, so a lot of storage space for your equipment while fishing.
The new Guideline Alta NGx Sonic wading jacket is made of a 3-layer Taslan nylon, is closed with a YKK Aqua-Guard zipper, which is completely waterproof and offers in addition to the great, medium-length cut and sufficient freedom of movement, plenty of space for accessories. Whether on the coast, stream or lake, the Alta NGx Sonic wading jacket not only completes the new NGx series of Guideline perfectly, but also makes a superior figure over any other pants.
