Monic Intermediate Sink Tip Clear Fly Line

The Monic Intermediate Clear is a fly line that can score even in the clearest waters and with the shyest fish on this planet. The Intermediate Clear is a completely clear fly line with excellent technologies. The construction of the line is similar to that of Hanley lines. An all-round taper that can present almost any fly well and has enough forward pull to get to the farthest distances and it does not matter if in fresh or salt water! The transparent fly line has a MoniCORE core and a clear, PVC free coating. This interaction makes the line one of the most inconspicuous lines ever and outwits even the shyest or smartest fish. Most of the predatory fish we fly fishers pursue have slightly upward facing eyes. The prey is deliberately pursued from below and pushed towards the surface. It is precisely in this field of vision that our fly line is located and it is not uncommon for predators to be put off by a flashy, eye-catching fly line when they cross paths. This is where a clear fly line comes into its own! The fly line is difficult to see against the sky and it also has greatly reduced shadowing on sunny days.

Inside the head of the clear fly line is an invisible surprise. The head was designed with density compensation, which means that the line gradually becomes less dense as it tapers in the front and belly areas. As a result, the tip of the fly line is located deepest in the water column, while the belly and the rear part of the head is guided closer to the surface. The increasing sink rate of 1-2 ips (2,5 - 5 cm/second) has on the one hand the advantage that an optimal contact to the fly is given and on the other hand that most of the fly line is kept out of the hot area and does not disturb the fish when they are in the first water column.

The soul of the Henely Phantom Tip line is made of the new exclusive MoniCORE core. A brand new and already protected monofilament core that has low stretch and can be fished in both cold and warm water - how awesome is that! The nylon-free mono line is also extremely clear, and in conjunction with the Phantom tip, the fly line is almost not noticed by the fish. This gives you a distinct advantage especially in clear waters and with big cautious fish.

About Monic:

Monic's high-quality lines are made in the USA and offer fly fishers a PVC-free alternative to many other fly lines on the market. No harmful chemicals are used in Monic fly lines. All components that make up a Monic line are 100% recyclable. And because no PVC is used, the coatings contain no volatile and harmful chemicals that have to be added to PVC to make a typical fly line. The American brand, which was founded in the 1980s, recognises that there is an essential and vital link between a healthy habitat and better fishing. Therefore, one of Monic's founding principles is to develop and deliver the best performing fly lines that also help protect our waters for future generations of anglers.
