The Marea Dark from Andrew is a top class wading boot handmade in Italy (Montebelluna). Already since 1981, the Italian manufacturer is known for its indestructible hiking boots, whose design and durability continues in the extremely high quality wading boots. With the Marea Andrew introduces another high quality, robust and durable wading boot and now also for the salt water!

Originally, the technical Andrew wading boot was developed for fly fishing in the Italian mountains, where long marches to alpine waters, the one or other climbing and also the conquering of rocks are part of the daily routine. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Andrew is comparable to a modern hiking boot - high cut and stiffer in the ankle area to provide maximum stability. To protect it from sharp rocks, coral and cliffs and minimize impact, it is reinforced all around with an extremely durable rubber casing. Despite this outstanding durability, it is so comfortable at the same time that we didn't want to take it off during our first tests. You won't find a more comfortable boot anywhere! Also contributing to the comfort of wading are the high-quality soles and midsoles, which are bonded with a special multi-component adhesive made in Germany. Its optimal application was perfected by Andrew in years of research and development work and is another guarantee for wading boots that hold together securely even after hundreds of hours of use.

The Marea Dark is a further development for fishing in the mountains or the valleys, because this wading boot feels comfortable not only in fresh water, but also in salt water! Whether Baltic Sea or Caribbean, in the Marea wading boot all components have been chosen so that the can permanently withstand the aggressive salt water. The metal eyelets for the laces, for example, have been replaced with fabric loops to eliminate corrosion. The upper material was also renewed to make it more cut-resistant to withstand the sharp corals. In addition, the anti-cut rubber strip was generously glued, which at first glance looks like a production error, is an ingenious solution. The adhesive used for the anti-cut strip protrudes about 2 mm, which has the great advantage that the edge can not detach so quickly. The processing and the components of the Marea speak clearly for a durable use in fresh and salt water!

Another innovation of the Andrew wading boot compared to its predecessor is certainly the completely newly developed Wet Grip sole. It is specially designed for use in wet areas outside and in the water and is characterized by excellent slip resistance on wet, slippery and overgrown surfaces.

  A completely new rubber compound was developed for the Wet Grip sole, which has very elastic and extremely soft properties, which also has a very positive effect on walking comfort. However, the great advantage of this new material is its brilliant mechanical resistance at all temperatures.
