Westin W6 Popping Spinning Rod

The W6 series established by Westin is built on technically mature and high-quality components. A super versatile rod range that has the right tool for virtually every fisherman to offer. The range lasts from more common techniques like pike, zander and perch fishing over seatrout fishing all the way to tropical fishing rods. All W6 rods are built on premium quality Toray blanks finished with Japanese Fuji rings. These rods are visually appealing and inspire many fishermen not only by their elegant appearance but fulfil the highest expectations in action and feeling in the hand.

The W6 Popping is a travel rod in the top league. It was built to fish every tropic location and to fight the strongest fish there. The Japanese Toray Blanks have so much power that they can handle every big fish. All components are saltwater resistance and burst of strength. All these rods have a small pack size to carry them without any problems in the plane.

There are four different rods on three different length:

  • 213 cm // 30-120 g: The shortest W6 Popping rod has a length of 213 cm and a casting weight of 30-120 g. Due to its short length it is superb for every top water technique and bait like big poppers or stickbaits. It is 3-part and has a transportation length of just 81 cm so it can be stored in almost every big travel bag to be transported by plan. It has a super strong backbone to fight strong fish like GT, Roosterfish, or other big saltwater predators.
  • 230 cm // 40-140 g / 100-180 g: There are two W6 Popping with a length of 230 cm. Both rods are 3-part and has a transportation length of little more than 80 cm. Both rods are super strong and powerful. The lighter version has a casting weight of 40-140 g and can be fished with almost every tropic lure. In general, both rods can be fished with topwater lures, offshore jigs, or other techniques. Of course, both can be used from the shore as well. The heavier rod has a casting weight of 100-180 g and is the most powerful rod in this series. It can handle the biggest and strongest fighting fish for sure.
  • 240 cm // 20-120 g: The longest W6 Popping rod with a length of 240 cm can be fished from the bank and from the boat to get longer casts. It is 4-part and has a transportation length merely 72 cm and can be stored in virtually every bag. It has a casting weight of 20-100 g and can be fished with many tropic baits your boxes hold. It can not only be fished with topwater lures but also with most other techniques to fish the tropics.

In short: These rods are true beasts. Built on extremely high-quality materials, 100% saltwater resistance and can be stored in every travel bag to wait for the next adventure. Every fisherman travelling a lot needs one of these rods to fish every destination he or she comes across.

About Westin:

Westin Scandinavia experienced its origin already in 1952 by Ingvar Westin. Quickly, the very small carving workshop became a large fishing company, known first in Sweden and later throughout Europe. Due to the attention to detail and the perfectionist work on all products, Westin is now a household name for every predator fisherman. Innovation, passion and especially the hunt for big fish are the focus of this company, which is especially known for high-quality rods and particularly catchy lures.
