G.Loomis GLS IMX-Pro Fly V2 Allwater Single Handed Fly Rod

With the V2, G.Loomis introduces the second generation of the popular IMX-Pro Fly rod family. These 'Allwater' single-handed rods are designed for daily use in fresh- and saltwater and are handcrafted with the finest components in Woodland, Washington (USA). The rod series covers a wide range of fisheries with its fast action and offers suitable models for many typical scenarios - from delicate trout fishing to single-handed salmon fishing.

Similar to its successful predecessors, the IMX-Pro Fly V2 also provides an attractive entry point into the world of G.Loomis with excellent value for money. These rods are developed based on the years of expertise of American guides for daily use and are characterized by a balance of impeccable craftsmanship and extreme durability. With their medium-fast action, IMX-Pro Fly V2 fly rods from G.Loomis serve as a versatile tool for most casting styles. Particularly in overhead casting at medium distances, the blank supports the accurate shaping of the fly line. And during long casts with double haul, the IMX-Pro Fly V2 shows its full potential. That's exciting! The grip features a comfortable full-wells design, and the quality of the cork is highly convincing. A darker composite cork ring is used on the bottom of the grip for better durability. The rod guides start with a hook keeper in the butt section, followed by an SIC stripping guide, and hard chrome single-foot guides that are precisely aligned and cleanly finished.

IMX-Pro Fly V2 fly rods are manufactured with G.Loomis' innovative Conduit Core Technology and the proven Multi Taper Design. Graphite wraps have been replaced with new materials to reduce weight and increase strength in the right places. The result is a compelling blend of power, durability, and a comfortable weight. These rods meet all the performance demands of modern fly fishing!

Multi Taper Design

Since 1982, G.Loomis has consistently pushed the boundaries of fly rod manufacturing technology, material innovation, and product design. This is why G.Loomis fly rods are so popular and deliver superior performance that enhances the experience and effectiveness on the water. There are countless examples of this philosophy, but one technology particularly expresses G.Loomis' endeavor to build the most advanced rods in the world: The Multi-Taper Design. The Multi-Taper Design can best be described as a series of "micro-tapers" within the overall taper of the rod. This unique proprietary process allows for more material at potential break points and less material everywhere else. To achieve this, G.Loomis has created a custom rolling table... and it's the only one that exists today. The result is a catalog of precisely defined actions that provide a perfect balance between durability and performance.

Conduit Core Technology

Traditionally, as the diameter of the rod blank increases, so does the total amount of material used. For many years, this was the only way to ensure strength/durability in the lower half of the rod. However, with G.Loomis' innovative Conduit Core Technology, excess graphite wraps are removed and replaced with a proprietary material that offers the same strength but is significantly lighter. As a result, casters need to exert less energy to move the rod, increasing the efficiency of the overall energy required to manipulate the line during casting, mending, and fly animation.

In the lower line classes, the IMX-Pro Fly V2 covers the entire spectrum of trout, grayling, and similar fishing. Weighted nymphs pose no problem at all, and dry flies can also be accurately presented. In the higher line classes, the IMX-Pro Fly V2 becomes a predator rod, and its powerful, medium-fast action supports casting weighted streamers. In short: If you're looking for an entry into the world of G.Loomis, then the IMX-Pro Fly V2 is a great choice for you!
