For modern nymphing techniques such as Czech or French nymphing and other methods that are summarized under the collective term Euro nymphing or high-sticking, a fly line with a conventional taper construction is not very conducive. On the contrary, because on the one hand the weight of the line constantly pulls on the leader and thus prevents the nymph from drifting deeply and freely. And secondly, the weight of the line in the rings and in front of the tip has a negative effect on the sensitivity of the rod, which in turn is reflected in bite detection. Therefore, the thinner and lighter the line, the better the drift and bite detection.

The Hydros Tactical Nymph fly line was specially developed for the requirements of European nymph fishing. A subtle light taper and ultra-thin diameter reduces line sag and increases sensitivity in bite detection. The double tapered, thin line with the extremely smooth AST Dry Slick Coating also meets the requirements of various competitions and is therefore one of the accepted competition lines.
