The Abel ROVE Black is a technically sophisticated fly reel that covers everything from delicate use on light trout rods to powerful single-handed and two-handed rods. Whether it's a sensitive presentation for brown trout or an uncompromising fight for big fish, the ROVE combines smooth running, enormous braking power and maximum stability in a series that has been designed for a wide range of requirements on the water.
The ROVE is manufactured in Camarillo, California. The frame, spool, brake knob and reel foot are precisely milled from cold-forged 6061-T651 aircraft aluminium and then hard anodised. This elaborate manufacturing process ensures maximum stability, corrosion resistance and an exceptionally durable surface. The distinctive solid plate design with a closed cage reliably prevents the line from becoming trapped between the frame and spool - a decisive advantage for strong fish and high line speeds.
Inside, the encapsulated multi-disc drag system works with alternating carbon composite and stainless steel discs. The drag starts extremely smoothly and offers enormous power reserves across the entire adjustment range. The large arbor design enables fast line take-up, reduces the memory effect and ensures even line lay. Thanks to the quick-change system, the spool can be changed quickly and the retrieving direction can be changed in a few simple steps.
