Each Abel® product in this highly limited edition is a unique design that is individually anodised by hand in the anodising shop in Camarillo, California - using the company's proprietary artistic metallurgical process. The designs take between 2 and 14 hours for a single employee to complete. With this fly reel, you not only get one of the highest quality reels ever, but also a truly unique piece that is unrivalled.

Because the new Vaya fly reel from Abel is the absolute all-round reel for all applications in the light to medium range, whether in fresh or salt water. The reel combines Abel's artistic aesthetics with uncompromising functionality, merciless performance and years of durability, as we have come to expect from Abel.
The design of the reel is a hybrid of several of Abel's previous models, combining the best of different approaches. The semi-closed back with chic stainless steel details creates a great balance between weight, stability and a unique look. The chassis is machined from robust 6061 aircraft grade aluminium and hard anodised for extra durability and resistance. This special surface treatment gives the reel incredible robustness against all external influences such as impacts, sand, scratches, but also aggressive salt water.
Inside the reel is a sophisticated mechanism and state-of-the-art brake technology. A combination of a click-pawl system and a multi-disc drag not only ensures fine adjustability of the drag resistance and a pleasant, characteristic clicking sound when the line is pulled off and cranked in, it also allows uncompromising performance when stopping fast-swimming fish. This is ensured in particular by the five alternating carbon and stainless steel discs, which distribute energy and power perfectly and generate a finely adjustable braking pressure. The braking power can be finely adjusted in no time at all using the smooth-running, easy-grip knob and always perfectly adapted to the respective situation, the target fish, your leader thickness, etc. One less thing to worry about when your dream fish is raging at the end of the line.
The integrated, double clicker is inconspicuously incorporated into the inside of the spool and also serves as a counterweight for the crank, so that the spool always turns perfectly balanced and never wobbles. As a small, additional gimmick, Abel has engraved two fly patterns on the inside of the frame to match the respective reel size. The engraving can be seen through the open front of the reel - a great accent, in our opinion. The reel is therefore not only a reliable companion when hunting for your target fish, but also a small work of art with collector's value.
