It not only determines the casting behaviour and distance, but above all the correct speed of the drift, the depth of the fly and ultimately the success of the fishing.
The Salar Convert Short Spey Shooting Heads are modern, compact multi-tip shooting heads with clear Scandinavian DNA. They were specially developed for efficient underhand casts as well as skagit and scandi-style casts and impress with a powerful yet very controlled taper. The focus is on easy handling, clean turnover and precise presentation - even under demanding conditions.
The well-balanced design allows longer and heavier sink tips as well as fine set-ups to be guided with ease. The heads create tight, stable loops and enable precise casts at medium distances. At the same time, they allow safe anchoring even at short distances - ideal for confined spaces or changing conditions on the water.
Intermediate-Sink2 (I/S2)
The Intermediate-Sink2 variant is designed for an even, controlled presentation under the surface of the water. The intermediate section ensures that the line is guided cleanly below the surface and is less susceptible to surface currents, while the Sink2 tip reliably brings the fly to medium depth.
This combination enables a very stable drift with direct contact to the fly and is ideal for situations in which the fly needs to be constantly offered a little deeper without sinking too quickly. This line really comes into its own in moderate currents and slightly higher water levels.
