The Rio Bonefish Tapered Leader is a specially developed, classic nylon leader for demanding fly fishing for bonefish in tropical saltwater areas. The stiff to medium stiff construction ensures a powerful turnover even in windy conditions and enables a precise presentation of small to medium sized bonefish flies. The strong butt section supports long casts, while the finely tuned tip ensures an unobtrusive presentation. The hand-tied Perfection Loop in the butt allows for a quick and secure loop-to-loop connection to the fly line.
With a total length of 9 ft (approx. 2.7 m), this leader offers the ideal balance of control, stability and finesse for shallow flats and shy fish. It is optimised for bonefish, but also copes reliably with windy conditions and supports clean bite detection with cautious takes.
