Product information "Rio Ambassador Series Gray Struznik Skagit Timberline Compact & Progressive 5,5 m Shooting Head"

The high-quality fly lines from Rio Products are manufactured in the USA and have been setting the standard on the market for many years with innovative technologies. This is why many professional guides around the world rely on Rio's premium lines and incorporate their valuable practical experience directly into product development. This is particularly evident in specialised lines such as the Skagit Timberline, which was developed in collaboration with guide Gray Struznik specifically for skagit casting for steelhead and other salmonids.

The Skagit Timberline is a compact, powerfully back-loaded skagit shooting head with a head length of around 18 ft (5.5 m) and was specifically manufactured to load and present heavy tips and large flies with ease, even in narrow stretches of water. The progressively tapered design makes the line easy to cast and enables controlled energy transfer - ideal for shorter two-handed rods in the 11-13 ft range.

With three coordinated weight classes, you can optimally adapt the Timberline to your rod length and casting setup. Even larger, heavier T-tips can be easily controlled, which makes the line particularly attractive for steelhead, salmon and sea trout fishing in smaller rivers. The classic, floating body ensures that the shooting head remains well under control.
