Patagonia Granite Crest Rain Jacket CLMB

At just 399 g, the Patagonia Granite Crest Rain Jacket is an incredibly lightweight rain jacket that can also be stowed away in its own chest pocket. This means that it can be carried in even the smallest of bags or rucksacks without being a burden, unless it has to withstand the worst conditions at the river or on a hike.

The rain jacket is not only an ingenious protection against wind and cold, it is also a flagship product in terms of sustainability and environmentally conscious manufacturing, as we have come to expect from Patagonia. The outer material of the Granite Crest is made from a 3-layer H2O Performance Standard NetPlus material, which consists of 100% recycled nylon ripstop. A very robust material which, in combination with the PFC and PFAS-free DWR coating, can withstand a high water column and protect the body from constant rain or heavy showers. The hood also offers ingenious protection, optimally sealing the face with its visor and sophisticated drawstrings. The hem, the waterproof front pockets and the zip in the middle with a zip collar are also well sealed. And if it gets a little warmer after a shower, the area under the armpits can be quickly ventilated with the pit zips, which are also waterproof.

The Patagonia Granite Crest Rain Jacket is the ideal companion in persistently bad weather or changeable weather, where the jacket can be stowed away to an incredibly small pack size when you don't need it. And with an extremely light weight of less than 400 g and sustainable production!

• NetPlus: Our beloved oceans and habitat for many fish that are at the top of our list as anglers, such as the GT or tarpon, are suffocating in plastic waste. An estimated 8.8 million tonnes of plastic waste is thrown into the oceans every year and fishing nets are one of the most harmful forms of this pollution. Around 650,000 marine animals become entangled in these ghost nets every year. This makes the use of NetPlus materials in Patagonia's products all the more important. NetPlus material is a recycled nylon material that is obtained from fishing nets that are no longer used. The NetPlus material is obtained by working closely with fishermen to keep or remove hundreds of tonnes of discarded nets from the sea each year. The nets are sorted, cleaned and shredded in Chile and then processed into 100% recycled nylon pellets, known as NetPlus. These pellets can then be processed into moulded plastic products, components or fibres and find a new, sustainable use!
