The Patagonia Boulder Fork Rain & Wading Jacket is an ingenious combination of two worlds. The cut of the rain jacket is comparable to Patagonia's popular Torrentshell jacket, but the Bouler Fork also has chest and hand pockets that are reminiscent of a lightweight wading jacket. Weighing just 388g, the jacket packs down to a small size, making it easy to carry in a bag or rucksack and put on quickly when the rain comes. This makes the jacket extremely popular for all outdoor activities and changeable weather. The Boulder Fork can also be worn permanently when fishing, as the spacious chest pockets offer the option of storing small items such as tippet or leader material as well as fly boxes. The front zip of the jacket is also waterproof and corrosion-resistant and the cuffs of the sleeves can be fastened almost windproof and waterproof with a Velcro fastener. Wind and rain are also kept out by a hood with a drawstring and peak for optimum protection!
The 3-layer shell fulfils the H2No™ Performance Standard for exceptional waterproof and breathable protection and the fabrics, membrane and durable water repellent (DWR) coating are made without perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs/PFAS). The Boulder Fork is a more than ingenious alternative to a wading jacket, especially in the transitional period or in summer. It offers protection from wind and rain, storage space for fly boxes and small items and is also a real lightweight at under 400 g.
