With the new Colours of the Wild special edition, the Loop OPTI fly reel series celebrates its connection to nature - in the form of expressive, anodised colour variants inspired by the quiet, impressive moments of wild landscapes.
The Colours of the Wild models are highly limited and available in the sizes: Dryfly, Rapid, Runner, Speedrunner and Strike.
The Opti Rapid is the logical extension of the legendary Opti series and fits seamlessly between the lighter DryFly and the powerful Runner. Developed for modern fly fishermen who place the highest demands on their equipment, from sensitive nymph fishing to fighting sea trout.
With its weight of only around 200 g, the Rapid is ideal for single-handed rods in classes #5 to #8 and also offers the perfect counterweight for long nymph rods up to over 11 ft. as well as light trout spey rods. Whether fine nymph fishing, powerful streamer fishing on the river, lake or coast or even light tropical fishing for bonefish and co. - the Rapid impresses with its high backing capacity, lightning-fast retrieve speed and absolute reliability with its drag. Thanks to the inner spool width of 25 mm and Loop's exclusive Large Arbor V design, the Rapid offers enormous line capacity. The generous spool diameter of 105 mm ensures fast line take-up, less memory and absolute control even in hard-fighting situations with strong fish.
The centrepiece is the proven, fully encapsulated Power Matrix Drag System. High-quality carbon discs deliver a silky-smooth, powerful drag with zero starting resistance - absolutely waterproof, saltwater-compatible and reliable for years to come. The large, non-slip drag wheel enables fine adjustment and parries every escape with ease.
As with all Opti reels, Loop has focussed on uncompromising stability: The closed spool cage not only prevents leader tips from slipping out or line jamming, but also ensures maximum torsional rigidity. The spool and frame are precision-milled from a single piece of aircraft aluminium, supplemented by stainless steel parts and anodised components. All screws are additionally secured with Loctite - for durability and absolute reliability.
Regardless of whether your target fish is trout, grayling, sea trout or even perch, zander and asp: the Opti Rapid is a fly reel that will faithfully accompany you for many years and never let you down.
