The CND Nordic Series was specially developed by NFisk for the European market, bringing with it a distinct Scandinavian DNA. The goal was to create a modern Scandinavian interpretation of a classic CND rod and to unite the best of both worlds—adapted to the demanding conditions of European rivers. The result is a powerful yet sensitive rod series characterized by excellent feedback, control, and versatility.

The rod series was developed with the intention of incorporating a stronger tip than is typical of conventional Scandi rods. At the same time, care was taken to ensure that the action remains noticeable deep into the butt section—even under high load tension—typical characteristics we've come to love in other CND rods. The adapted action of the rod allows for precise stop points with shortened stroke lengths during touch & go casts, thereby transferring a lot of speed from the rod tip to the line. This action enables not only accurate casts with tight loops but also excellent control during the fight.

The typical CND bend behavior in the lower blank also provides sufficient power reserves to confidently handle heavier Skagit shooting heads or longer Spey lines. So, while designed as Scandi-style rods, the Nordic GTE rods offer a versatile range of uses for two-handed casting techniques of all kinds.

Over 100 different carbon prepregs were tested during production to find the ideal combination for the desired rod action. The carbon used features Micro-Pitch technology, ensuring exceptional tension strength and responsiveness. An additional epoxy coating from Hitena on the guide wrappings ensures maximum durability. An Alps reel seat and premium cork complete the build. Each rod is delivered in a durable Cordura tube.

This switch rod was designed for small to medium-sized rivers and stands out for its lightness and sensitivity. Ideal for lighter salmon fishing, but also perfect for sea trout in structured waters. Despite weighing only 150 g, it remains assertive—even in strong headwinds.

Recommended lines: Nextcast Zone 375–400 grain + 10–12’ tip
Alternative lines: Nextcast Zone 3D 500–525 grain / Nordic 2D 460 grain + 10’ tip
