With these specialized rods, Vision expands its popular Hero series with three dedicated nymphing models. The #3 in 10.6 ft is the ideal all-round model, as its length and weight offer maximum flexibility under a variety of conditions and water types. Additionally, the rod is also available in 10 ft #3 & 10 ft #4. Of course, Vision has optimized the choice of components, their placement, and the rod action for their specific purpose. These rods feature a slim Half Wells grip and a stylish down-locking reel seat, rounded off with a small EVA fighting butt for better reel balance. Slim single-leg guides are placed closer together on the blank to prevent sagging of the line or leader. This minimization of slack ensures better strike detection while nymphing – and a cleaner drift. A snake guide was also placed directly below the tip-top guide to prevent thin mono from wrapping during the cast. The action is medium-fast, but with a stronger lower section and a soft, responsive tip that perfectly detects the subtlest bites on a delicate mono rig and allows for accurate presentation of light nymphs.

Did you know: At Vision, you’ll find a carbon rating for each graphite rod (here: 36). The higher the number, the higher the carbon modulus used in that rod. This rating is closely related to the tonnage of the carbon in each blank. However, this isn’t the full story, as Vision uses different carbon blends to achieve the desired rod action, and the resins also vary from model to model.
