Product information "Vision Dry Hero # 4 - 8 ft Single Handed Fly Rod"
The team at Vision Fly Fishing from Finland knows very well: being a hero on the water doesn’t mean you have to rob a bank. Antti Guttorm and his Finnish colleagues demonstrate this impressively with the Hero rod series. These affordable rods feature a medium-fast, balanced action that appeals to both beginners and experienced casters, harmonizing well with all typical casting styles. All Hero rods are finely tuned to the type of fly fishing they are most likely to be used for — and we especially like that! Whether you want to be a superhero across a variety of waters, a nymphing hero, or rule over stillwaters: these rods offer the right action and components for the job.
The Vision Hero rod series covers nearly all common applications in modern single-handed fly fishing. It offers an intuitive entry point and makes it easier to find the right model for you. Each model is designed with practical use in mind and proves that the Finns not only know rod building, but also fishing. For instance, the Nymph Hero rods are equipped with a down-locking reel seat for improved overall balance. In addition, slim single-leg guides are placed closer together on the blank to prevent line or leader sag. This reduction of slack improves strike detection and ensures a clean drift while nymphing. Just like the Nymph Hero, all other members of the Hero family are thoughtfully designed and fully optimized for fishability. The coastal rods come with corrosion-free components and a stylish aluminum reel seat. Rarely have we encountered a rod series in this price range that impressed us so quickly. True price-performance winners that make for a perfect entry into the world of fly fishing — but also win over experienced anglers. And no, you don’t need a cape when heading to the water with a Hero. A pair of waders is more than enough.
The Vision Dry Hero, with its length of 8 ft, is perfect for stalking small rivers where heavy vegetation leaves little space for casting.
Did you know: Vision provides a rating for the carbon used in each of their graphite rods (in this case: 36). The higher the number, the higher the modulus of the carbon used. This rating is closely related to the tonnage of the carbon material in each rod. However, this is not the full story — Vision uses various carbon blends to achieve the desired rod action, and the resins differ between models as well. Still, this rating gives an idea of the main carbon used in the blank. Vision’s premium rods use graphene-infused resin and are marked with the Graphene logo.
