With a downturned eye, the bead is pulled closer to the eye, leaving more of the hook shank visible and giving the pattern a more natural look. The "mega gap", i.e. an extra wide hook bend, ensures that the hook point can reliably grip even with a lot of material. The hookless design makes it easier to set the hook and protects the fish, while the black nickel finish offers an unobtrusive look and improved corrosion protection. A well-balanced hook for modern nymphing techniques with high demands.
