In addition to refining the classic design, the product developers at Ross Reels have made some significant modernisations that catapult the iconic reel model into the present day.

The new San Miguel was carefully developed in the Ross Reels factory in Colorado and combines modern workmanship and materials with all the elements that made the original an icon. The polished, high-gloss black finish on a solid frame, the wide-range adjustable, sealed braking system and the famous flower petal pattern on the back of the reel are back. The new version has modernised features such as a canvas micarta handle, a material used on high-quality custom knives to improve grip in wet conditions. The precision sealed drag system consists of carbon/stainless steel discs and offers powerful yet smooth drag. The Large Arbor spool is accented by a machined stainless steel push button that looks as good as it performs. This integration of classic and new features make this reel a worthy heir to the iconic San Miguel name.
