The Rio Fluoroflex Steelhead and Salmon 9 ft Tapered Fluorocarbon Le ader is a 100 % fluorocarbon leader, specially developed for demanding salmonids such as steelhead, salmon or sea trout. The Fluoroflex material is almost invisible under water, which does not frighten cautious fish, and at the same time offers high abrasion and knot resistance. The long butt section enables a clean turnover of large streamers and nymphs, while the soft tip supports a natural presentation. Hand-tied perfection loops at the butt end facilitate fast and safe rigging.

This leader is perfect for salmonids because it offers the balance between strength and sensitivity: the robust butt section provides casting power and control, while the finer tip presents the fly gently. This makes it suitable not only for classic salmon and steelhead fishing, but also for sea trout in the river or for targeting large brown trout with streamers. Especially in clear, structured waters, the fluorocarbon helps the fish to barely notice the leader materials.
