The Rio 2-Tone Indicator Tippet is the perfect addition to any modern Euro Nymph leader. When using nymphing techniques with a stretched line, such as French nymphing, classic bite indicators are deliberately not used on the surface of the water, as these can have a negative effect on the free and natural drift of the nymph near the bottom. Instead, so-called sighters are used, which do not carry any weight and are used exclusively for visual control. Bites are precisely detected using special leader constructions, direct contact with the nymph and sensitive rods in light classes.
The Sighter from Rio is used for better observation of the leader and drift when Euro nymphing. The monofilament is designed in such a way that it remains easily recognisable when suspended in the air against a wide variety of backgrounds. The regular colour change takes place at short intervals of 20 cm and is separated by a dark intermediate section, which significantly improves the perception of changes in direction, stops or fine plucks, especially in backlight or bright backgrounds.
The Rio 2-Tone Indicator Tippet is available in different diameters so that you can match your leader exactly to the technique, water and target fish. The sighter can be individually shortened from the spool to the desired length. Both small tippet rings and neatly knotted loops are suitable for connecting to the tippet. Depending on the situation, the following tippet can be made of fluorocarbon or nylon to optimise presentation and abrasion resistance.
