The Classic Retro-X Jacket is one of Patagonia’s most popular jackets – both for everyday wear and for all kinds of outdoor activities. No surprise, as this windproof and warm jacket is extremely versatile! Now, Patagonia’s classic has been further developed – more sustainable, more durable, and even more comfortable. For the new Retro-X fleece jacket, a 349 g/m², 6-mm fleece made from 100% Repreve® recycled polyester is used, certified by OceanCycle. The raw material comes from coastal regions that are particularly threatened by plastic pollution, providing not only high functionality but also actively contributing to ocean protection.
For reliable weather protection, the fleece is paired with an elastic 75 g/m² taffeta lining made from 100% recycled polyester, treated with a durable water-repellent DWR finish (made without PFAS). This effectively blocks wind and retains warmth while reliably repelling moisture.
The stand-up collar is lined with fleece on the inside and reinforced with NetPlus® 100% recycled nylon trim from old fishing nets on the outside, ensuring extra durability. A full-length front zipper with an internal wind flap minimizes heat loss in cold gusts. The Y-Joint sleeve construction optimizes freedom of movement in the shoulder and arm area, while elastic bindings at the collar, cuffs, front zipper, and hem stabilize the fit.
Features include a left chest zipper pocket made from NetPlus® recycled nylon and two zippered hand-warmer pockets lined with brushed 180 g/m² tricot made from 100% recycled polyester for extra warmth and comfort. All lining and trim fabrics are bluesign® certified.
The jacket is made in a Fair Trade Certified™ facility, which ensures the sewing workers receive an additional premium. Weighing 726 g, it combines high thermal performance with a durable build and timeless design – remaining a reliable companion in wind and weather for years to come.
