Product information "Nextcast Winterhope WH55 FF Floating shooting head"
The shooting head systems from NEXTCAST are becoming increasingly popular. Especially among ambitious salmon and steelhead anglers, there has been a real hype about the sophisticated shooting heads in recent years. We have also learnt to love the customised, user-friendly tapers and the superb casting properties bring a smile to our faces every time. In addition to the very popular two-handed shooting heads and the matching tips and running lines, the extensive collection also includes very successful lines for modern streamer fishing for trout. We particularly like the fact that there is definitely the right line for every casting style and every water condition in the Nextcast range.
Nextcast WinterHope series
The WinterHope shooting heads have been specially developed for demanding fishing in cold conditions. They combine a Scandinavian-inspired taper with the ability to cleanly transport light to medium sink tips. The result is an extremely versatile multi-tip shooting head that impresses with both easy handling and high casting performance.
Compared to classic Skagit systems, the WinterHope series produces significantly tighter, more stable loops and enables precise, long casts with a clean presentation. The heads are primarily designed for modern touch-and-go spey casts, but can also be fished in a controlled manner with sustained anchor casts if required.
The WinterHope shooting heads are available in 45 ft. and 55 ft. versions and are designed for use with 12 ft. to 15 ft. sink tips. In combination with the matching Nextcast Multi-Tip systems, the line can be optimally adapted to different water levels, currents and depths - ideal for changeable conditions in spring and winter.
Nextcast WinterHope 55 FF Floating
The WinterHope 55 FF Floating is the floating version of the series and is aimed at advanced casters and for use on larger waters. With its longer head, it offers maximum control, outstanding line stability and particularly clean loop patterns - ideal for precise presentations at distance.
As a fully floating shooting head, this version is perfect for situations where high line control and a clean, near-surface presentation are required. In combination with interchangeable sink tips, the desired running depth can be flexibly determined, while the floating body always ensures optimum control.
The line impresses with its powerful yet controlled turnover, which reliably stretches even small to medium-sized flies and tips. The floating version shows its strengths particularly at low to medium water levels and in clear conditions, enabling efficient, precise casts with a fine presentation.
In addition to classic steelhead fishing, this line is ideal for spring fishing for sea trout and salmon - for example on Swedish rivers that flow into the Baltic Sea or on Scottish salmon rivers. Especially in moderate conditions, a floating head in combination with suitable tips offers maximum flexibility.
