Product information "Nextcast Winterhope WH45 F1 Floating Intermediate shooting head"
The shooting head systems from NEXTCAST are becoming increasingly popular. Especially among ambitious salmon and steelhead anglers, there has been a real hype about the sophisticated shooting heads in recent years. We have also learnt to love the customised, user-friendly tapers and the superb casting properties bring a smile to our faces every time. In addition to the very popular two-handed shooting heads and the matching tips and running lines, the extensive collection also includes very successful lines for modern streamer fishing for trout. We particularly like the fact that there is definitely the right line for every casting style and every water condition in the Nextcast range.
Nextcast WinterHope series
The WinterHope shooting heads have been specially developed for demanding fishing in cold conditions. They combine a Scandinavian-inspired taper with the ability to cleanly transport light to medium sink tips. The result is an extremely versatile multi-tip shooting head that impresses with both easy handling and high casting performance.
Compared to classic Skagit systems, the WinterHope series produces significantly tighter, more stable loops and enables precise, long casts with a clean presentation. The heads are primarily designed for modern touch-and-go spey casts, but can also be fished in a controlled manner with sustained anchor casts if required.
The WinterHope shooting heads are available in 45 ft. and 55 ft. versions and are designed for use with 12 ft. to 15 ft. sink tips. In combination with the matching Nextcast Multi-Tip systems, the line can be optimally adapted to different water levels, currents and depths - ideal for changeable conditions in spring and winter.
Nextcast WinterHope 45 F1 Floating Intermediate
The WinterHope 45 F1 Floating Intermediate is the shorter and slightly more compact version of the series. It is particularly suitable for small to medium-sized rivers and for situations where there is less room for the backcast. Thanks to the shorter head, it loads faster and enables very intuitive, forgiving casting.
The floating intermediate design ensures that the rear part of the line floats high, while the front section sinks in slightly. This creates a very controlled lead with direct contact to the fly - perfect for ensuring a stable drift even in cool water and moderate currents.
The line impresses with a powerful yet controlled turnover that reliably stretches even small to medium-sized flies and tips. The WinterHope 55 shows its strengths especially in cold temperatures and enables efficient, energy-saving casts with high precision.
In addition to classic steelhead fishing, this line is ideal for spring fishing for sea trout and salmon - for example on Swedish rivers that flow into the Baltic Sea or on Scottish salmon rivers. The floating-intermediate configuration offers decisive advantages, especially in changing water levels and clear conditions.
