Product information "Monic Striper Elite Short Fly Line Intermediate"
The Monic Striper Elite Short Fly Line Intermediate is a powerful fly line that makes it extremely easy to load the rod and let the line shoot. Just the thing if you want to fire slightly larger streamers without having to practise many empty casts. In addition, the Monic Striper Elite Short fly line Intermediate offers ideal and ingenious sinking behaviour at the same time. With a sink rate of 1.5 - 2 ips, it is an ideal intermediate sink rate to be able to offer streamers perfectly, whether for sea bass, pike or co. The fly line has also been designed with ingenious density compensation, which means that the density decreases as the line progresses. This means that the front part sinks the fastest, while it slowly decreases towards the back of the head. In practice, this means that we have direct contact with the fly at all times, even in waves. This not only gives you better line control, but also ensures maximum utilisation of the bites.
The design of the head is such that the line simply loads the fly rods at close range and it is also easy to let the line shoot. This has the great advantage that you can cast all day long without tiring, even with large flies. The powerful head of the fly line is supported by a 10 ft long handling zone. This area of the line offers more control when casting and also increases the service life of the line, as the line is subjected to maximum stress when the fly rod is loaded.
The Monic Striper Elite Short uses the supple braided fibre core that Monic is so well known for. The low to moderate stretch offers shock absorbing properties when using particularly delicate leaders and the ability to straighten the line with a slight hand stretch, while at the same time requiring little effort to set the hook effectively. The core alone has no memory by nature and helps to create a fly line that remains supple whether it's hot or temperatures drop below freezing in January.
Unlike many other fly lines that lose lubricity due to surface treatments or chemicals leaching from the plastic, the Striper coating uses Monic's proprietary STS lubrication technology, expertly formulated and evenly blended into the plastic mix. This results in an extremely low friction surface that glides through the rings like a dream, but won't wear or migrate out of the plastic over the life of the line. This means that with occasional cleaning, your line will cast the same as straight out of the box, even when fished in rough conditions. As with all Monic fly lines, the Striper elite Short offers excellent overall durability!

About Monic:
Monic's high-quality lines are made in the USA and offer fly fishers a PVC-free alternative to many other fly lines on the market. No harmful chemicals are used in Monic fly lines. All components that make up a Monic line are 100% recyclable. And because no PVC is used, the coatings contain no volatile and harmful chemicals that have to be added to PVC to make a typical fly line. The American brand, which was founded in the 1980s, recognises that there is an essential and vital link between a healthy habitat and better fishing. Therefore, one of Monic's founding principles is to develop and deliver the best performing fly lines that also help protect our waters for future generations of anglers.
