The Monic Skyline Plus is a true all-round talent, as it has a taper that is extremely easy to cast and a coating that remains supple in both freshwater and saltwater. This means that everything from small streamers in trout streams to large poppers on GTs can be cast with ease.
The taper of the Monic Skyline Plus fly line is the well-known Javelin taper, a taper that ensures that the fly line is extremely easy to cast in all situations. From close range with large indicator rigs to distance casting with large flies. This is possible because most of the weight of the line has been shifted to the front part, so the fly line loads the fly rod extremely quickly. For longer casts at maximum distances, the second belly and the rear taper give the line the necessary stability when casting, even against the wind. The Monic Skyline Plus uses the supple braided GSP (gel-spun polyethylene) fibre core for which Monic is so well known. The low to moderate stretch offers shock-absorbing properties when using particularly sensitive leaders and the ability to straighten the line with a slight hand stretch, while at the same time requiring little effort to set the hook effectively. The core alone has no memory by nature and helps to create a fly line that remains supple whether it's hot or temperatures drop below freezing in January. In addition, Skyline lines have an appropriate core per class, the higher the line class, the greater the breaking strain of the braid.

Unlike many other fly lines that lose lubricity due to surface treatments or chemicals leaching from the plastic, the Monic Skyline Plus uses Monic's proprietary STS lubrication technology, expertly formulated and evenly blended into the plastic mix. This results in an extremely low friction surface that glides through the rings like a dream, but will not wear or migrate out of the plastic over the life of the line. This means that with occasional cleaning, your line will cast the same as straight out of the box, even when fished in rough conditions. As with all Monic fly lines, the Skyline Plus offers excellent overall durability!
