The Loop Opti Runner is Scandinavian engineering at its best - probably one of the finest fly reels on the market. With its special design, perfect dimensions and iconic look, it lives up to its name: the Opti Runner works perfectly in all areas and is equally impressive for trout, tropical and salmon fishing.
A real technical highlight is the fully encapsulated carbon fibre drag system, which is 100% waterproof and works absolutely reliably even in salt water. The legendary Power Matrix Drag starts up as smooth as butter, works jerk-free and offers enormous power reserves - more than enough power for strong fighting fish.
Its large arbour spool with V-profile not only ensures perfect line lay and reduced line memory, but also, in combination with the impressive 115 mm diameter, extremely fast line retraction. This means maximum control during the fight - even when a fish swims towards you in a flash.
The closed reel cage is elaborately manufactured, but pays off twice over: It gives the reel maximum stability and torsional rigidity while preventing the leader from slipping out or jamming the fly line.
The Opti Runner is manufactured from a single piece of aircraft aluminium, supplemented by saltwater-resistant stainless steel and aluminium components that are secured with Loctite. With its low weight, enormous capacity and the possibility of fishing it from #6 to #10, its range of use is huge.
