The Premium Guideline PE Backing multicolour is exactly the right choice if you need particularly high capacity and/or a very strong backing on your reel.
It consists of eight round-braided PE (polyethylene) strands. Compared to conventional Dacron backing, it is significantly thinner with the same load-bearing capacity. The Gelspun material also has a very smooth surface and therefore runs even better through the guides. It is therefore more gentle on your rod and the line material itself, even under extreme strain. The changing colour also provides an ingenious overview of the fish's approximate position during the fight.
The small diameter means you are always in direct contact with the fish, so changes of direction can be mastered without any problems and less unwanted pressure is exerted on the hook. This reduces the risk of losing a large fish immensely. You can also double the backing capacity of your reel with a higher load capacity. For all fly fishermen who are looking for a high-end solution for their backing line, the strong PE backing from Guideline is just the thing.

Tip: When knotting, double the backing to increase the knot strength with these very thin lines. This doubles the surface area in the knot and increases the knot strength enormously. The double loop also has the advantage that the backing does not cut into the connection to the fly line.
