G.Loomis Asquith Saltwater Single Handed Fly Rod

Fly rods from Gary Loomis (G.Loomis) have an excellent reputation worldwide - and that since many, many years! Quite a few models of the American rod manufacturer enjoy absolute cult status today. This is hardly surprising, because at G.Loomis one hundred percent fishability meets high-quality workmanship, the best components and timeless design. Exactly what discerning fly fishers are looking for! In the long success story of G.Loomis ranks the legendary Asquith as the absolute flagship model at the top of the rod podium - both in fresh- and saltwater.

The Asquith series from G.Loomis is the compelling result of the close collaboration in design, material and manufacturing techniques on a global scale. The blanks of the Asquith fly rods are based on Shimano's patented Spiral X technology, in which two carbon fiber tapes (infinity tape) are wrapped around the graphite blank in opposite directions. This technology makes it possible to reduce material and weight while minimizing vibration, thereby dramatically reducing swing weight during casting. Thus, the power transmission is significantly improved with an even thinner and lighter blank. What does this mean for the angler on the water? Tighter loops that allow more precise and efficiant casts while enormous energy is generated from the lower part of the rod for long distance casts. Hence, perfect for the demanding saltwater angler. Less effort on the cast means you can focus more on what's important when fishing, your target fish.

The Asquith, designed by multiple casting world champion Steve Rajeff, combines technical progress with traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail. The saltwater series not only impresses with its accurate rod action, with the combination of a fast blank recovery and a reactive tip combining both precision and power. It also convinced us on all lengths with its built using only highest quality components. Titanium SiC stripping guides and flexible titanium Recoil snake guides, as well as a classy, saltwater-resistant reel seat made of anodized aluminum not only round up the rod visually, but are functional building blocks that contribute to its compelling performance. Bottom line: With the Asquith, G-Loomis has succeeded in creating one of the lightest and most powerful rods on the market, which completely convinced us from very the first cast - both with short, targeted casts as well as distance casting. Whether in the Baltic Sea for sea trout or in the warm tropics for bonefish, permit and tarpon, the Asquith will enrich your fishing experience from the first to the last cast.
