Lamson Litespeed Fly Reel ultramarine

The name Litespeed at the reels of Lamson is definitely justified. Because the line pull in this really happens at the speed of light! The enormous diameter of this reel, even in the small classes, is ingenious in many respects. On the one hand, you rarely lose the tension of the line to the fish in the drill, for example, with hectic bonefish or sea trout a plus. And secondly, the diameter ensures a lower memory effect, which is a particular issue with mono running lines.

The Lamson Litespeed fly reel is one of the lightest reels on the market, considering its dimensions, which is exactly what makes it popular for all streamer junkies, from sea trout to tarpon! Paired with a modern rod that is also lightweight, you can fish the Litespeed all day or all week without having to hold a heavy weight. It simply does not get more fatigue-free. But also the technical data of the fly reel are very convincing. The Litespeed M - the marine version of the Litespeed is equipped with a hybrid brake system that adopts some elements of the Cobalt brake - fixed spindle, large conical surfaces with heat dissipation and a click-stop brake button. The reel also features close-tolerance composite bearings and is equipped with the same linear spring set as the Litespeed F, optimized for each reel size. Like Lamson's Cobalt reel, the Litespeed M is IPX8 waterproof to a depth of 100 feet (about 30 meters). So don't be shy if the reel is half in the water or the spray from the waves comes crashing down on you, the Litespeed M is watertight!

In short: Whether on the coast, pike fishing or in tropical waters, the Litespeed fly reel is the perfect companion for hours of fishing. It combines lightness, fast and high-quality technology in a very stable frame!

About Lamson:

Waterworks is immediately associated by most fly fishermen with the lightweight, reliable reels. Yet the origin of Waterkworks lies in a small, innovative tool. In 1996, Waterworks was founded by two anglers and product designers because they found a better solution to remove the fly from the fish's mouth faster and more gently. Named after their hometown in Idaho, the first Waterworks product, the Ketchum Release Tool, was launched in 1996.

Even before Waterworks was founded, product designers were working with high-quality components. Ryan Harrison honed his skills and knowledge in high-performance cycling, for example. Among other things, Harrison developed suspension technology for Cannondale mountain bikes, so he was already familiar with wheels in the frame.
It was only logical that the founders turned to fly reels after the release tool. Because fly reels were heavy, overly complex and unreliable at the time, so there was work to be done here. With the question in mind of what the perfect fly reel looks like, the ULA was born and represents the foundation of today's high quality fly reels. Together with Lamson, the fly reels, rods and accessories, now enjoy more than two decades of passion, innovation and solid engineering - with no end in sight.
