Lamson Litespeed F Fly Reel fuego

The reel builders at Lamson asked themselves, "What can you say about larger but lighter, lighter but stronger?" And they came to the answer, "Of course you can!" Because that's what they've done over and over again in developing new reel models. And even though the bar is always raised: Improvements, new ways of thinking, new materials and processes that can be used ... there are always new ways. An important performance measure of a fly reel is the retrieve speed per gram. Because if you think about it, a fast retrieve speed for fishing has only one disadvantage: the additional weight.

The 6th generation of Litespeed fly reels from Lamson now sets new standards in terms of retrieve speed to weight ratio. This reel series is CNC-machined, with artfully distributed material along the critical load paths, stable and strong, so light that you might forget it's even there. But at the same time so beautiful that you remember it. In this fly reel, WWL's reel makers have combined all their craftsmanship with the latest technology and the best materials. A perfect balance that will make you smile while fishing.

Litespeed F - The Freshwater versions of the Litespeed series are designed for freshwater fishing and are suitable for trout, grayling, perch, zander and pike in our backyard waters. The chassis of the Litespeed F is based on the tapered system found in the other WWL reels, with the addition of a click-stop brake button and a unique spring set that creates a linear progression of torque with very fine resolution at the light end of the range. This makes the Litespeed F in the small versions ideal for fishing with ultra-fine leaders. The Super Large Arbor architecture of the LSF spool and frame is designed for high retrieve speeds, but sparse and open to promote line drying and of course reduce weight. Exactly as the reel developers at WWL envisioned it. In short: the lightest and at the same time largest diameter the Litespeed has had so far. In combination with the revised, fresh design and reworked seals that offer even more reliable water protection, the latest generation of Litespeed F fly reels is a clear buy recommendation from us!

About Lamson:

Waterworks is immediately associated by most fly fishermen with the lightweight, reliable reels. Yet the origin of Waterkworks lies in a small, innovative tool. In 1996, Waterworks was founded by two anglers and product designers because they found a better solution to remove the fly from the fish's mouth faster and more gently. Named after their hometown in Idaho, the first Waterworks product, the Ketchum Release Tool, was launched in 1996.

Even before Waterworks was founded, product designers were working with high-quality components. Ryan Harrison honed his skills and knowledge in high-performance cycling, for example. Among other things, Harrison developed suspension technology for Cannondale mountain bikes, so he was already familiar with wheels in the frame.
It was only logical that the founders turned to fly reels after the release tool. Because fly reels were heavy, overly complex and unreliable at the time, so there was work to be done here. With the question in mind of what the perfect fly reel looks like, the ULA was born and represents the foundation of today's high quality fly reels. Together with Lamson, the fly reels, rods and accessories, now enjoy more than two decades of passion, innovation and solid engineering - with no end in sight.
