In addition to a strong yet lightweight construction, this includes the high-quality drag system of the SLT reels. The newly designed drag system is powered by a state-of-the-art disc pack made alternately of stainless steel and carbon, which effectively dissipates heat and enables an ultra-smooth start when fighting the strongest fish in the world. An oversized O-ring in the system ensures that every click of the brake can be finely and cleanly adjusted, so that even, controllable pressure is applied to the brake. In addition, the SLT drag is linear with every click, allowing the angler to set the perfect amount of drag. The new drag also features a hard stop at the top and bottom to prevent overwinding and free spooling - so you're always on the safe side!

The SLT also features a newly designed and incredibly smooth clutch mechanism that seamlessly transitions into the braking force. This ensures that the brake runs exceptionally smoothly, even when the fish makes hectic escapes. All internal components have been enlarged to simplify handling, reduce tolerances and withstand the increased heat and torque encountered when fishing for tarpon, giant trevally and arapaima. With the Bauer SLT, everything has been thought of to put the strongest fish in their place - and with incredible coolness and calm.

Of course, the entire system is a fully sealed carbon fibre drag system that skilfully keeps out dirt and water to allow tough use.
