Product information "Rio Elite Leviathan Intermediate-Fast Sinking Tropical Fly Line"
Rio's Elite Leviathan fly line is the strongest saltwater line from Rio and has a very hard coating that resists heat and an ultra-strong core inside. It was developed to stop the strongest and largest hunters in the tropical seas.
The Rio Elite Leviathan fly line is built on an ultra-strong low-stretch core that has to withstand a lot and even passes on the strike at long distances. The coating of the Leviathan is extremely robust, so that even small contacts with rocks or corals are no problem. The Leviathan also features the popular and, above all, tried-and-tested slick cast coating. A very smooth and durable surface that ensures excellent shooting behaviour. The head of the Leviathan is designed so that even the heaviest saltwater rods can be loaded efficiently and quickly. This means that the line really has steam to the front! This is thanks to the 2.5 metre long, short body with the most weight in the Head Weight. The body then merges into a 7.9 m sink tip, which has a different sink rate depending on the line strength. Body and sink tip of the Leviathan then result in a 10.4 metre long, short head, behind an intermediate running line. This super compact and strong construction of the Leviathan transports even huge flies and poppers with ease.
Rio Technologies:
- Slick Cast
The name says it all! Rio has really shaken up the fly line market with this new technology. Rio itself advertises it as the smoothest coating on the market. It improves the shooting ability, noise minimisation and durability of the line. We ourselves found the lines so smooth that we had to restrain ourselves a little at first so as not to overshoot the metaphorical target. So we can endorse Rio's claim.
- DirectCore
The low-stretch braided core for saltwater lines gives you ultimate control over your streamer. The braid is strong and supple at the same time, and the line offers unrestricted performance even in hot conditions. The stretch is reduced by around 30% compared to other lines, so that the hook can be set immediately even at long distances.
