With the XTZ ADIXION, Adams Fly Rods is launching a fly rod that clearly shows where modern Euro nymphing is heading: more sensitivity, more control and, above all, more connection between angler and drift. Euro Nymphing rethought

In recent years, Euro Nymphing has developed from a niche technique to one of the most effective methods in fly fishing. The focus is on direct contact with the nymph, maximum control and the finest bite detection. This is exactly where the XTZ ADIXION comes in: It has been consistently developed to make even the smallest movement noticeable under water.

Familiar - but noticeably better

Interestingly, the story of the ADIXION does not begin with a completely new blank. Quite the opposite: Adams has deliberately taken a different approach here. Instead of reinventing everything, the existing blank was only minimally adapted. The surface is now brushed and matt without smoothing the structure, which not only looks more modern, but also has a practical advantage - the line sticks less to the blank, especially when wet.

The actual feel of the rod is retained. This mixture of an incredibly fine tip and a stable backbone in the lower section is still the centrepiece.

It is precisely this combination that characterises modern Euro Nymphing: Sensitivity for the slightest contact and at the same time enough power to safely control even larger fish.

The real game changer is in the handle

When you pick up the ADIXION for the first time, you quickly realise that something is different here. The biggest development step is not in the blank, but in the handle.Adams was an early pioneer when it came to carbon handles for nymph fishing. With the ADIXION, this concept has now been taken a step further.

The handle and reel seat merge into a single unit that is not only lighter, but also feels completely different.the handle is shorter. The rod is held closer to the reel. This sounds unspectacular at first, but it has a noticeable effect. This change in hand position alone gives you a few centimetres more reach in the drift. And when euro nymphing, a few centimetres are often the difference between perfect control and a slight drag.

Even more important, however, is the feedback. Whereas in the past you mainly had contact with the blank via the index finger , a much more direct system is created here. The finger is still on the blank, but at the same time you have contact via the handle itself and even via the reel seat in the ball of your hand. Suddenly, "I can see the bite" becomes "I can feel it" and you get the feeling that you are not only guiding the nymph, but actually "reading" it.

The new design not only gives you more feedback from the nymph in your hand, it also allows you to hold or fish the rod in different positions.

Whether small hands or large hands, every angler will find exactly the position they need in this handle to have more feeling than ever before when fishing.

The "hollow" in the handle plays a major role here, as it allows a finger to be positioned on the blank through the handle. For smaller hands, for example, this can be the index finger, for larger hands the thumb, while the index finger can then also be positioned above the handle on the blank. With the support on the ball of the hand for the carbon reel seat, you then have 3 contact points for direct contact, so that you can feel every small stone and, of course, every bite!

This type of handle looks unusual at first, but ergonomically and technically it offers the best combination of reel seat and handle ever seen in Euro Nymphing!

Balance that you no longer have to adjust - you can feel it

Another clever aspect of the new design is the integrated weight system.

Weights can be inserted into the reel seat to customise the balance. This sounds like a technical detail, but in practice it changes a lot, because Euro Nymphing is not just about sensitivity, but also about fatigue. Anyone who fishes for hours will notice every little difference. A perfectly balanced rod feels lighter, reacts more calmly and can be guided more precisely.

The system also opens up new possibilities when choosing reels, asyouare no longer reliant on finding a reel that fits exactly - you can actively adjust the balance.

The combination of the latest technology and the individually adjustable weights not only allows you to fish different reels, but also to use your favourite reel on different Admas XTZ Adixion rods and always balance them perfectly thanks to the weights!

New possibilities with semi-automatic reels

The new handle is a real advantage, especially for anglers who use different set-ups or even semi-automatic reels.

The new, innovative shape of the handle brings the hand closer to the reel. Not only this, but also the shape of the new handle now makes it possible to operate semi-automatic reels and thus further expand the selection.

More than just a Euro nymphing rod

What makes the ADIXION particularly interesting is the extended line-up. While many Euro nymphing rods are very clearly tailored to one area of use, this series deliberately opens up in other directions.

• The 9'6" model is the best example of this. It is not aimed exclusively at classic Euro nymphing anglers, but also appeals to those who are more versatile. It shows its strengths on smaller waters where long rods are more of a hindrance. At the same time, it is ideal for techniques such as dry droppers or fishing with bite indicators in the New Zealand style. Here you get a rod that is strongly orientated towards Euro nymphing, but is not limited to this.
