Calf Tail is a very popular tying material among dry fly, saltwater and steelhead fishermen. Due to the fact that it is bit more stiff than Bucktail its for example used for the common split wing technique on dry fly patterns as the Royal Wullf, for wings on Bonefish flies like Gotch and Crazy Charly or many other streamers (e.g. Mickey Finn).
