With its release, the Sextant series immediately takes its place at the top of the large Thomas & Thomas rod family. The flagship for demanding fishing in saltwater and for exotic and domestic predators is based on a unique reinforcement strategy that improves the strength and recovery properties of the unidirectional high-performance carbon fibres. This design increases the energy coefficient of the finished rod parts, resulting in rods that charge quickly and produce streamlined line speed and casting distance with less effort. In other words, exactly what we need in tropical saltwater and love so much when fishing for Sea Trout, Sea Bass, Pike and others!
The Sextant rod range includes models that are perfectly tuned for their respective applications. From lightweight stalking of Bonefish, Sea Trout and Sea Bass, to precise fishing of wary Permit on white flats, to taming explosive Tarpon and aggressive GTs - when it comes to saltwater rods, the Sextant plays in the Champions League. The entire Sextant rod family features a smooth loading action and fast recovery speed that allows for precise accuracy at short distances without sacrificing the power and backbone needed to punch flies through the wind at longer distances.
The blanks offer extremely strong casting characteristics due to the innovative T&T technologies, characterised by lightning fast recovery, minimal vibration and reduced swing weight. This allows the line to be lifted off the water with ease, quickly brought up to speed and controlled with only a few false casts. Especially the thinner diameter in the upper part of the rod cuts the wind efficiently and allows precise and ultra-fast presentation. In the lower part of the blank, in the butt section, there are incredible reserves of power that give the rod an extremely strong backbone and enable it to take on the very strongest opponents. The optimised ring guide also contributes to this: The ultra-light titanium stripping guards with high-quality silicon nitride inserts are mounted slightly lower than on other rods.

From the high-quality cork, which feels soft in the hand, to the elegant reel seat with T&T logo and the discreet blue decorative wraps, the overall appearance is harmonious, with particular emphasis on quality and saltwater resistance of all components.
