The Sportex Salmone de Luxe follows on from the popular hucho rod of the "De Lux" series. After the special rod for hucho was met with a lot of positive response, Sportex had almost no choice but to follow up accordingly. Salmon fishing is still very traditional and is even becoming more popular again today, but you usually have to travel for good salmon fishing. So the salmon model was built directly as a travel rod, so it fits perfectly in your luggage. The action is very similar to the "Huchen de Lux XT", but the casting weights have been adjusted accordingly. Of course, this salmon version is also still a great rod for European Taimen fishing with slightly lighter lures.
Casting weight, action and components are perfectly designed for fishing the king of salmonids. For even more backbone to navigate even large, fresh salmon from stronger currents, the rod is equipped with a tight lower section. This is aided by Sportex's proven HT Cross-Winding technology, where the carbon fibers run in opposite directions for even more structural integrity. It also improves the recovery of the blank, making the rod more precise. The tip action allows for controlled lure handling in the current and more control during a bite. During the fight and when casting you do not notice the extra pitch of the rod.
The rod is equipped with extra-large, sturdy Seaguide SIC guides, which prevent icing in winter temperatures. The comfortable cork handle also makes fishing much more pleasant on cold days or when there is a lot of wind.
