The Ultegra FC is the mid-range model of the Coresolid Series from Shimano. Reels that are known for their larger rotor and thus have a particularly rich and smooth rotation. The Ultegra fits perfectly into this system and is suitable for a variety of applications. Its precision, casting distance and robustness make it ideal for use in modern freshwater spin fishing. Both the brake system, line roller and backstop are waterproof, allowing for use in saltwater too. The well-known Hagane Gear is manufactured in a cold forging process, which ensures that the reel over a long time retains its extremely precise, smooth and powerful running. By revising individual internal components, Shimano has developed the SilentDrive technology, whereby microscopic crank play is a thing of the past and the reel gets a super quiet and smooth running, which is even more improved by the total of 6 ball bearings.
The internal components are enclosed in the high-quality and lightweight Hagane reel body, which is characterized by immense resistance, stability and torsional rigidity. The reel features a Long Stroke AR-C spool and the Aero Wrap line routing for better casting distance, a factor not to be underestimated in a wide variety of fishing techniques. The high-quality and made of one-piece bail, gives the reel additional stability and ensures a smooth guidance of the line, without interfering edges. Through the G Free Body technology, Shimano has managed to bring the center of gravity closer to the rod, which makes the reel feel lighter and can be fished longer without fatigue. The closer the center of gravity is to the rod, the more balanced the entire set-up feels, which also affects casting balance.
