The SG8 is a lightweight monster - it's Savage Gear's new freshwater flagship and packed with state-of-the-art reel design technology. The body and rotor are made of a super tough and torsion-free carbon reinforced composite (CRC), which are complemented by very strong but lightweight aluminum components such as the spool and handle. This material composition makes the reel not only particularly resistant and durable, but also very light. The CNC-machined aluminum handle is screwed directly into the gear wheel and transmits the rotational force directly to the gear.
Inside are an impressive 10+1 stainless steel ball bearings, including two high-quality Japanese ball bearings that ensure smooth running at all movement points, even under the toughest use. Proprietary DuraGrease and DuraOil protect the gearbox from corrosion and wear over the long term, even under the toughest use. The Fricton Control brake system is also sealed and perfectly protected from external influences. Inside are high-quality carbon discs that produce a reliable and finely adjustable braking force. It combines pleasant lightness with incredible fishing performance.
The non-slip spool is also designed for braided lines, so underlining with mono is unnecessary, because the braid holds directly non-slip on the spool. A spare aluminum spool is also included, of course with the special T-shaped line clip.
