The SGS10 is the absolute flagship fixed spool reel from Savage Gear. It is the product of all the innovation and technical finesse that Savage Gear has to offer in terms of reel construction. Only the very best components have been used to build the toughest, lightest, and most importantly, most powerful saltwater reel possible to take on the strongest and fastest saltwater giants. The body, rotor and handle are made of rugged aluminum that is not only completely saltwater resistant and torsion proof, but is also very lightweight and offers maximum performance.

The aluminum handle is screwed into the gear wheel without wobbling and transmits the rotational force directly to the CNC-machined brass gearbox. 8+1 stainless steel ball bearings ensure smooth running at all movement points, even under the toughest conditions. Proprietary DuraGrease protects the gear from corrosion and wear over the long term, even under the toughest use. The Fricton Control drag system is also sealed and perfectly protected from external influences. The double-sided carbon discs produce incredible drag tension, which can be very finely adjusted, but brings impressive fish-stopping-power to the scale.

For the first time, Savage Gear has installed their proprietary Temperature Controlled System (TCS) which protects the reel from overheating during heavy use. The combination of an Air Spool Ventillation and multiple titanium discs provide up to 30% reduction in drag system heat during the fight (compared to conventional spools). This protects components, significantly extends lifespan and ensures consistent performance throughout.

But that's not enough:. Savage Gear has also set the bar very high when it comes to saltwater resistance. Five hydro-seals prevent water from entering the gear under any circumstances.
