The Riser Bait 012SL is the long and slim model from Illex's Riser Bait series. This new generation pencilbait is streamlined and heavy. The stainless steel lip is set at an innovative upright angle to create an irregular swimming action either directly under or on surface. It works best when cranking in evenly, faster speed keeps it on the surface, slower retrieve just below. The key to all Riser Bait lures is that they imitate prey fish fleeing to the surface. During testing, most of the attacks occurred when the bait was rising to the top, thus escaping the predatory fish. Because very strong fish are expected in tropical areas, the Riser Bait 012SL is also mounted inside with continuous wire and withstands even the strongest fish. Due to the rather high weight of the bait (31.2 g), it can be effortlessly brought to distance, even in windy weather. This makes it interesting also for shore anglers.
