The Exsence Shallow Assassin 99F is a flat running minnow by Shimano, which was originally developed for the Japanese market. However, due to its immense success and popularity, it didn't take long for it to become popular in Europe as well. The lure quickly established itself for sea bass fishing, as it can be transported to great distances thanks to the JetBoost system. The system includes a moving weight inside the lure that is pushed into the back during the cast, increasing the casting distance. By means of a spring, the weight is shifted to the original area during the lure retrieve and supports the running behavior.

The lure is also equipped with the Flashboost system - a small foil mirror, attached to springs inside the lure, which provides attractive light reflections even with minimal movement. As a result, there is never a moment when the lure does not exert an attraction on predatory fish. Be the movement ever so small, the FlashBoost works. Another visual appeal is the three-dimensional ScaleBoost, which allows for a remarkably true lure design and mimics the scale pattern of fish true to life.

The lure has a side rolling action when simply cranked in and breaks out sideways when twitched, then slowly tumbles to the surface. It is suitable for pretty much all predatory fish, but has proven particularly effective on perch, asp, zander, sea bass and sea trout.
