The DD SQUIRREL 79 SP is, like all other SQUIRREL models, perfectly balanced and outstandingly catchable. When brought to depth it floats completely still on the spot in spinstops or when twitching, which makes many fish bite in longer stops. Even the lightest tugs from the rod tip or very slow reels will animate it to its flanking movement pattern. The barrel is just as stable and reliable even with the hardest twisting strokes and the fastest cranking. Due to the long throwing ball, unimagined casting distances are possible for a hardbait weighing only 11.3g. With a running depth of 1 to 2.5 meters, it is the optimal bait for medium depth fishing for big bass and walleye.

If you lead the bait with short, regular twitches into the loose line with the rod up, this brings out the effective 'kick back' action, where the Squirrel suddenly almost swims backwards.
