The Scientific Anglers Amplitude Infinity is an extremely versatile all-round freshwater line of the absolute top class. Like all Amplitude fly lines, it is also equipped with AST Plus (Advanced Shooting Technology). This is based on an additive that is incorporated into the line and ensures a smooth surface even after prolonged use. This is made possible by diffusion, i.e. the substance in question can migrate from the inside of the coating to the outside and constantly maintain the surface - similar to the self-greasing of human skin. The result is a line that not only stays smooth for 60 % longer, but also causes 40 % less drag than comparable lines on the market. Admittedly, Scientific Anglers has to pay well for this innovative technology - but if you consider that you can enjoy it for much longer and benefit from the smooth coating right to the end, the purchase of such a highly developed line can be well worth it!
The fact that the Scientific Anglers Amplitude Infinity fly line was honoured with the "IFTD - Best Of Show Award" as the best freshwater fly line says it all! This is an extremely versatile line with a long belly taper that is very stable in the air, allows long casting distances and is very comfortable to manoeuvre. A long rear taper, a top-heavy belly and a compact front taper ensure plenty of turnover for confidently casting nymph rigs with bite indicators or streamers. Nevertheless, the long taper offers the necessary finesse for sensitive presentations with the dry fly. In addition, this line is half a class above the standard AFTMA rating and therefore also gets modern fast-action rods going quickly - even if only part of the belly is outside the tip ring. Thanks to its long belly design, it also allows long roll casts and one-handed spey casts to perfection.
