Absolute - this is the short and concise name of the new leader range from Scientific Anglers.
All Absolute monofilament leaders from Scientific Anglers are made from a special nylon blend that drastically reduces the absorption of water while ensuring optimum suppleness for high knot strength. Absolute nylon leaders and tippets have a 29% higher wet knot strength compared to previous Scientific Anglers materials and up to 40% higher wet knot strength compared to many other products on the market. The new Absolute range from SA comes with environmentally friendly paper-based packaging and is now 100% recyclable. All materials, colours and other components of the packaging are fully biodegradable to protect our rivers and oceans and reduce our ecological footprint.
The Absolute Streamer leader is only 4 ft. (1.22 m) long and is therefore suitable for combining with sinking lines on running waters. If the streamer is to be offered at depth in the current, longer leaders have a major disadvantage: the water pressure on the stretched leader pushes the streamer back to the surface more quickly with a long leader! As well as being used for large brown and rainbow trout, the Absolute Streamer leader is also recommended for fishing for perch or for weighted patterns for steelhead and salmon on single-handed rods. The pronounced butt section with a diameter of .74 mm ensures that large, windy or weighted patterns can be transported without problems and the energy of the cast can be transferred from the flying line to the leader without significant losses.
