Absolute - this is the short and concise name of the new leader range from Scientific Anglers.
All Absolute monofilament leaders from Scientific Anglers are made from a special nylon blend that drastically reduces the absorption of water while ensuring optimum suppleness for high knot strength. Absolute nylon leaders and tippets have a 29% higher wet knot strength compared to previous Scientific Anglers materials and up to 40% higher wet knot strength compared to many other products on the market. The new Absolute range from SA comes with environmentally friendly paper-based packaging and is now 100% recyclable. All materials, colours and other components of the packaging are fully biodegradable to protect our rivers and oceans and reduce our ecological footprint.
The Absolute Leader material is particularly suitable for making your own leaders for demanding tropical fishing (e.g. for permit or tarpon). The nylon blend is medium stiff and therefore supports an exact presentation at all casting distances. This universal leader material transports typical saltwater patterns even through strong winds and allows the hook to be set directly. In addition to knotting your own leaders, you can of course also use the Absolute Leader material without tapering - for example when popping. In fresh water, the monofilament really comes into its own when streaming for predatory fish, e.g. pike. It is very abrasion-resistant and therefore a good choice if you have a lot of structure in the water. The 50 metre spools have an extra large diameter. On the one hand, this makes it easier to attach to a rucksack or pack and, on the other hand, hardly any memory is created during storage.
