The Classic Retro-X Vest is one of Patagonia's most popular vests – perfect for everyday wear as well as all kinds of outdoor activities. No surprise, since this windproof and warm vest is extremely versatile! Now, Patagonia has further developed this classic – making it more sustainable, more durable, and even more comfortable.
The soft, voluminous fabric is made from 100% Repreve® recycled polyester, OceanCycle certified and sourced from coastal regions threatened by plastic pollution. This high-performance fleece retains warmth, blocks wind, and, with its 349 g/m² weight, is durable enough for many years of use. Inside, a lining of 100% recycled polyester taffeta with a PFAS-free, durable water-repellent (DWR) finish provides additional weather protection – ideal for changing conditions.
When it comes to the neck, every detail matters: the fleece-lined stand-up collar is reinforced with trims made from NetPlus® recycled nylon, derived from old fishing nets, actively helping reduce ocean plastic. The fit is cut more casually to ensure freedom of movement, and the trims on the collar, front zipper, armholes, and hem are both hard-wearing and comfortable to wear.
Practical pocket solutions complete the features: a left chest pocket made from NetPlus® recycled nylon for quick access, plus two handwarmer pockets with soft, brushed tricot lining made from 100% recycled polyester. The full-length front zipper is backed by an internal wind flap to reliably keep out cold drafts.
The Retro-X Vest is made in a Fair Trade Certified™ facility – ensuring that the people who make it benefit as well. Weighing only 471 g, it’s light enough for everyday use yet tough enough for outdoor adventures.
