The Hydros Saltwater Big Game fly line from Orvis is the right choice for anyone targeting the biggest predators in the Caribbean or Indian Ocean. This floating tropical line has everything you need for fast and precise casting of (weighted) streamers - regardless of the casting distance. Thanks to the modern compound taper with plenty of weight in the front part of the butt, you can load your saltwater rod effectively and react easily to pulling fish. Without any unnecessary empty casts! The medium-length club measures 12 metres and can be kept very stable in the air. You can also lift large amounts of line from the water. An important advantage if your fly is not taken on the first try.
Even large poppers can be catapulted to great distances without effort thanks to the enormous shooting ability of the Orvis Hydros Big Game. Also because the line is overweighted according to AFTMA classification. Ideal for windy conditions on the flats or on the reef. The low elongation of the mono core supports clean guidance of the fly and immediate setting of the hook. To make the floating line stand out even better from the surface, the coating features Orvis' AST technology, a patent for continuous line protection and additional smoothness. Dirt particles adhere much less to the particularly smooth surface and it also shoots better through the rings with minimal friction - a plus point for distance hunters.
