The Metz Signature Saddle is a high-quality cock saddle that has been specially developed for tying dry flies. The feathers are characterised by their very good quality, high stiffness and elasticity, making it easy and clean to tie excellent floating dry flies. The hackle fibres are even and stable, which enables precise winding and a clean fly profile.
Compared to necks, the variation in fibre lengths is significantly less with a saddle. This makes the Metz Signature Saddle particularly suitable for tyers who want to produce many dry flies in the same or similar sizes. The majority of the fibres are ideally suited for flies in sizes #8 to #18, although this is a natural product and slight variations between individual saddles are possible so that flies can also be tied on larger and smaller hooks.
The grade #1 offered here is the best quality grade from Metz. It stands for a particularly high density of usable feathers, a uniform feather structure and a very high yield. The saddles offer a large quantity of long, narrow and easily usable feathers, so that a long service life is guaranteed even with intensive tying.
