The Maxima Knotless Tapered Leader is ingenious in many ways and is among the most popular leaders and tippet materials worldwide.

These leaders, produced using an elaborate process, have two key features that set Maxima apart. First, the matte color of the line, which reduces spooking effects as it does not reflect sunlight. Second, the material properties: the leader is not only tapered in diameter, as expected from a tapered leader, but also features varying stiffness levels. The thicker butt section of the leader is very stiff, allowing for excellent energy transfer during casting, while the thinner tippet section is extremely soft. This combination is outstanding in many ways, providing excellent turnover characteristics and allowing for smooth presentation of both heavy and delicate flies. Combined with high knot strength and impressive load capacity, the Maxima Tapered Leader is one of the best on the market.
